This embroidered hoop picture features a black faced sheep which has been hand drawn and cut from felt, then embellished with free motion embroidery detail.
Free motion embroidery is like drawing with a sewing machine - it is all stitched by eye so each design is slightly different and truly unique.
The black faced sheep has been stitched onto a background of bright teal Harris Tweed. I buy the Harris Tweed directly from a weaver on the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides in Scotland.
The artwork is framed inside an oval embroidery hoop which
measures 19.5 x 15 cm. This is a very lightweight picture and can be hung on any wall.
The reverse of the hoop is backed with felt, and the official Harris Tweed orb label is sewn on the back.
