This warm yellow Harris tweed cushion features a striking Oyster Catcher carefully stitched onto the front.
This pillow would be the ideal gift for a bird watcher or twitcher, a wildlife lover or perhaps it would just make the perfect addition to brighten up your own favourite chair!
The cushion cover fits a 50 x 35 cm removable wool filled cushion pad which is secured inside the cover by two buttons on the back. Once the cushion pad is inside the cushion measures approximately 45 x 30 cm. The cushion pad is removable and is secured inside by two buttons on the back.
The oyster catcher is hand drawn, and cut out of pieces of felt, then embellished with intricate free motion embroidery feather detail. Free motion embroidery is a technique which is like drawing with stitches using my sewing machine. No embroidery programmes are used, it is all stitched by eye so each design is slightly different and truly unique.
The Harris Tweed is bought directly from a weaver on the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. This soft yellow is a wonderful warm colour which reminds me of sunny walks along the beach where you might spot an Oyster Catcher! The official Harris Tweed label is sewn on the back of the cushion.
